To unlock FSR 4 neural reconstruction, engineers tapped into the latent FP16 Dual-Issue execution pipeline native to PS5 Oberon silicon. Direct ALU register addressing processes two 16-bit floating-point operations per cycle, doubling sampling bandwidth for motion vectors and depth buffers.
Neural temporal frame reconstruction executes in 5.92 ms instead of the stock 11.80 ms. This completely eliminates subpixel shimmering and silhouette ghosting while preserving native 2560×1440 image sharpness.
